Coordinating TACHE and Tejas Foco Conference Dates

Especially now as we are all working to pressure the Texas State Board
of Education, of course, we know it is wise to work together. This is a
short note to reach out to coordinate the work at our current
conferences and also to coordinate for next year.
Along those lines, as the Director of Intercultural Initatives for Lone
Star College-North Harris, I am submitting a bid to bring the Tejas Foco
to Houston in March of 2015. I wanted to make it to both events but
could not. I'm sure there were many others in the same situation. Let's
avoid that for next year.
1. Drafting a resolution for MAS:
Is TACHE drafting a resolution to endorse
getting the
Texas State Board of Ed. to put M.A.S. up for a vote at their meeting
in April? If not, please do. You will have politicos attending TACHE. We
will have 2 Texas State Board of Education members at the Tejas Foco.
Let's trade notes during, and after. Let me know if you need some
examples of current resolutions.
2. Dates for next year:
I"m bringing the Tejas Foco to Houston next
year March 2015. Let's touch bases to make sure we don't overlap. I'm
looking at the first week in March 2015. Here is our preliminary

We've got a few folks who will be at TACHE who can help relay information.
